Averra Developments Inc. renovates, builds, and develops homes for the future. Daring to stand apart from the rest, Guy Taylor and Gavin McLeod became partners in 2007 to build a company with a focus on custom, sustainable construction seamlessly coupled with striking contemporary design. Passion for real-estate brought the partners together, but the combined industry experience Taylor and McLeod already had sets Averra apart from other development companies in Vancouver. Taylor is a construction manager at heart with a degree in economics. His years working with a high-profile real-estate broker as a research analyst motivated Taylor to get out of the office and renovate, using his own home as a model. Persevering in the high-pressure industry, Taylor has now been in residential construction for more than ten years. McLeod’s initiative to help a friend purchase a building attracted him to real-estate development. A financial consultant at the time, McLeod created his own model for evaluating commercial property. The successful model resulted in more purchases, helping McLeod develop asset-management skills and a high tolerance for risk. McLeod eventually became interested in residential development because he wanted more control over property improvement and value.
In 2006, McLeod and Taylor began their first development project, forming a strong partnership that demonstrates their love of a challenge and the drive to always improve. As developers who both started their families in Vancouver, they understand the needs and challenges of clients in every age demographic, and create homes they would be proud to call their own.
